There wasn't much damage from last nights hurricane. I'm happy that we still have power and a street to drive through. Everybody is okay. Im happy this whole hurricane didn't hit our town as hard as the others in Connecticut Read more...
Day 303 of 365: Hurricane Sandy Starts
Monday, October 29, 2012
I'm currently going through a hurricane that's hitting Connecticut pretty hard. Already certain cities are undergoing flood issues and power outages. Luckily my girlfriend and I are here in the apartment witnessing this in the news and not outside. We don't live close to shore, so we have a better chance of surviving this hurricane. To everyone that's effected... my prayers go out to you and hopefully you guys are going to be okay. BAAFF 10/28 - The Final Day of the Festival
Since beginning this festival I realize how much blogging can be time consuming and important to the community. I love how blogging has been a big part of my life and how it's been something I need to do on a daily basis. I can't see myself doing anything other than shooting, posting, and talking about pictures. Today I present you the last highlights of the festival before returning home to Middletown. Thank you BAAFF for allowing me the opportunity to experience the festival and blogging about it. I hope to do it next year.

I'm too tired to write anything down right now, but I tell you this.... Pui Chan is pretty damn amazing.
BAAFF 10/27 - On the Third Day
Last night was pretty fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself having that I barely know this crew. I think the best part of last night was the afterparty. I haven't photographed something like this in quite some time. I had fun. You should've been there.

Day 301 of 365: A Few Snaps / Small Walk
Saturday, October 27, 2012
My girlfriend and I headed to the coffee shop today to do some studying and blogging. I didn't really take much pictures for the blog. I wanted to relax my eyes before I started shooting for the event again. It's been nice though. Kickin' it here in Boston has been cool. I could see myself shooting here to add to my long term project I've been working on.

BAAFF 10/26 - 2nd Day of the Fest
It's the second day of the festival and it was a lot of fun! I tried my best to cover all that I could, but I was just so intrigued by watching the films that I almost forgot that I had a job to do. If anything the festival was a blast and I had a great time. Enjoy the rest of your day!

BAAFF 10/25 - Opening for the Weekend
Last night kicked off the Boston Asian American Film Festival. The whole night was amazing and it was the first time I was deeply moved by a film, let alone, be in a movie theater. I don't watch a lot of movies so this was definitely a treat for me. Over the course of the few days I will be updating the blog for both the 365 and the festival. I'm going to be doing the festival separate from my 365 project. Stay tuned for more details!

Day 296 of 365: A Quick New York Stop
Monday, October 22, 2012
I had to run to New York today to pick up some tickets for a Halloween party me and my girlfriend, her brother, and roommates are going to be attending to. To be honest I don't really care about it, however, it gave me the chance to photograph the city and add to my long term project. During the shoot I stopped by this Leica store in SoHo and they allowed me to play with the Leica M9. I tell you... if I had this camera along with a Leica MP and a Mamiya 7..... done...

Day 295 of 365: Lovely Day Good Light
Sunday, October 21, 2012
Today's shoot was pretty random. The light inside the hallway of the apartment was just amazing. My girlfriend wore some pretty awesome clothes. The moment was right, the light was good, and the poses were great. Best pictures of the day.
Note: I did do a small touch up on the image so it is technically "photoshopped"

Day 294 of 365: Inside Most of the Time
Saturday, October 20, 2012
It was an uneventful day for me. The plan to go to a cafe, study, and chill didn't turn out as planned. Girlfriend and I decided to stay home, get some chinese food, eat ice cream and hang out inside all day. From all that I'm actually pretty tired. I did, however, finish the majority of school work I needed to get done so my day wasn't entirely wasted being a couch potato. I was productive so you gotta give me that. I'm hoping we get to do something fun tomorrow so we'll see.

Day 293 of 365: As the Fall Settles In
Friday, October 19, 2012
This was the only photo that was suitable for today entry. It's a representation of what Middletown, CT looks like. I wasn't motivated to shoot digital today. It's one of those things that I just wasn't into at the moment. I'm sure more will come out of me tomorrow, but as of today... I keep it chill. Happy Friday everyone.

Day 292 of 365: Assignment 5.1 Documenting a Person Using Unconventional Composition
Thursday, October 18, 2012
Today I made the attempt to finish an assignment that needed to be done before this Monday. I'm not sure if I'm happy with the results, but I did what I could to make it happen. Thanks Emma and Phil for allowing me to photograph you.

Magali Duzant
Magali Duzant is a photographer based out of New York who I got the pleasure to meet living in San Francisco. Her photos tell of some interesting outlooks on life's theories, relationships, and how it adapts toward the environment around her. Currently studying for an MFA Degree she continues to create long term personal projects that create alternate realities of the world today. I'm stoked to know that she will be exhibiting a new piece in Rochester, NY at the Siskind Gallery which starts on October 20th to November 18th. I'm a big fan of her work and this is something you guys should definitely check out. Look at the post below for more of her work!

Day 291 of 365: Around the Town
Wednesday, October 17, 2012
I went around photographing lots of things, but in the end it didn't turn out the way I expected when loading them up. It was a film camera kind of day for me. I just wasn't into shooting digital. Though this morning I had to complete an assignment that required me to photograph a historical landmark. On the photo above and below is a house of the one and only Mark Twain. If you haven't check out his books you should read The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin. Apparently that book and a few others were written here so it was pretty interesting.

Day 287 of 365: A Day Back Home
Saturday, October 13, 2012
Welp.... back to the old routines again. For the record, for how boring life could be right now there are times where I appreciate it more than the noisy city I once lived for awhile. Being in NYC for a couple a days was more than enough to relieve the itch I've been having. So yeah...

Day 286 of 365: 24th and 6th
Friday, October 12, 2012
Yeah.. I know that the above photo we looked pretty haggard, but that's how it goes. This is us at 8 in the morning. For the rest of the day I just worked and didn't really photograph much digital stuff. This whole experience of being in NY just shooting for a long term project on film was a blast. I'm definitely going to do it again.

Day 285 of 365: Hanging Out With Duzant
Thursday, October 11, 2012
So, I FINALLY got a chance to hang out with someone that used to reside in San Francisco. Magali Duzant is a photographer who current is graduate school earning her masters degree. She's one of the few people I know that can create good concepts. She's one of my inspirations outside the world of documentary photography. Her is really personal, down to the core, melodic and delivers this perspective naturally. Meeting up with her and catching up was nice. It allowed me the opportunity to photograph her for an assignment I needed to work on and to know some of the new works she's currently doing. She's one cool cat and I respect her work and as a human being. Cheers Magali! Thank you for hanging out!

Day 280 of 365: I'm Alone... This Town is Cold - An Interpretation Assignment
Saturday, October 6, 2012
For my Documentary Text/Image class we were assigned to photograph at least five photos that create a narrative or a sequence to interpret a subject or phenomenon we have access to. I decided to do a self portrait study on my perspectives in Middletown. This place is very lonely place. Everything is new and people are hard to talk to. I chose to create these images to represent a sense of isolation I have with this town. It was a fun project. Personal, but fun.

Day 278 of 365: New Cut - Style Up
Thursday, October 4, 2012
Earlier today I got my hair done at this salon called "Fringe" which is located in West Hartford. The guy was totally cool and cut my hair to the vision I was looking for without knowing what I was looking for. I've done this "fohawk" thing once, but it never really turned out the way I wanted it to. There's much more personality to it. I liked it so much I decided to show it off. Enjoy!

Day 277 of 365: Debate Debate Debate
Wednesday, October 3, 2012
I don't know what this country is gonna go through in the next four years, but I'm hoping that it will provide everyone the opportunity to live a better life and allow each individual, young and old, the chance to feel that things are getting better. After watching the debate and hearing my friends opinion I'm not liking what's going on. I hope that this upcoming election will help everyone and not segregate us.
