Day 365 of 365: Goodbye 365 - It was a Great Year
Sunday, December 30, 2012
I can't believe from day one I was determined to finish a project I have never done before. I was able to keep myself motivated regardless if I felt out of touch with photography. Because of this commitment I realized how important it is to me. I realized that photography is not a hobby... it's a way of life. For years and years my photography had many failures. But I never gave up and it grew into something that I never thought it would grow into. It's an obsession, an addiction, looking through the frames of a world that I still don't understand. It's a passion, a mindset, a moment. I'm not sure where I will go from here, but I know that I have another great year ahead.
I want to thank all of my friends and family that have supported me on this project. I want to thank the people who understood my concepts and have helped me with whatever I needed just to make sure that I had something to write about for my 365. I know to some of you this may be a little thing, but to me.... to me... this project meant everything. Goodbye 365... I may see you again someday. Read more...

Thursday, December 27, 2012
I know it may be early to post, but I'm wanting to just chill with my girl and possibly be heading out to some party tonight. I don't know why. Today I did come out of the apartment and photograph some of the nice nature we have in our backyard. It's a great place to live. Slow, but great.

Day 359 of 365: The Eve - Xmas
Monday, December 24, 2012
Yup. Didn't do so much shooting today. When it comes to the holidays I seem to just slow down. I guess I do my best to embrace the festivities. To me, Christmas and New Years are just like any other days. The only difference is seeing people go ape on buying gifts and watching the media cover societies obsession for materialistic shit. No matter though. I'm pretty simple when it comes to this part of the year. Hang out, eat, drink tea and let it ride... yeah.. that's how I do.

Day 358 of 365: Taking the Bus - Back to Mass
Sunday, December 23, 2012
Had to take the bus to Boston today since my car is screwed up. The bus ride to Boston wasn't that bad. It only took an hour or so to arrive at South Station. From there I got picked up, chilled with my gf's fam, and ended the night looking at Xmas lights.

Still Life Portfolio Now Up!
I just recently posted a Still Life section of my portfolio. At one point of doing these runs with friends and working alone I started acquiring a taste for still life work. If you know my man Theo he was one of the individuals that had inspired me to do this kind of work. This framing and choice of subject has always been unique to me. There's something about his work that just seems very off which describes his viewpoint of the world. Check it out and let me know what you think. Read more...

Let's just say that my colleague, Sara, just has a bad night and I had to drive her home since her car had a flat tire. Not only that my check engine light is on. :(

Day 350 of 365: The Quiet is Still Here
Saturday, December 15, 2012
It's still in my mind how awful this incident was. Since reports have gone back and forth about what's been going with the shooter and the family and friends associated with him it still fact that people are dead. Let alone children. We can only do the best we can to support the victims of this tragedy. It is still a dark day with some days ahead.

Day 349 of 365: Shots Called - Emergency
Friday, December 14, 2012
In the wake of the morning I went ahead and took my girlfriend to work before doing a couple of errands for the day. I stopped by the local car garage after taking my cat to the vet to get an oil change. While in the waiting room they had a T.V. broadcasting the "Today Show." Suddenly breaking news pops up about the Sandy Hook Elementary school under emergency. Reports have said shots have been fired. So after hearing the news, driving back to my girlfriend's workplace to deliver her food, I went home and absorbed whatever I could.
And that was it. I sat there, posting Facebook messages about the tragedy of the whole event. I sat there on the couch watching the news as the anchors deliver the breaking news each hour. I sat there trying to understand why a person could do such a horrible thing. My feed was flooded with thoughts about the tragedy.
As always the networks will twist and turn the facts, point the finger at the first person or group that are potential suspects, or develop subjects unrelated to and/or even inappropriate for what the real issue is. It becomes one big cluster of blame and opinion, accusations and solutions, ideas that don't even matter.
What is the real issue here? The issue is people are dead. Children are dead. Adults are dead. The parents are dead. In the time of the holidays you would think we would share our thanks to those surrounding us. You would think this would be a moment to make us unite and maybe even start again. And then there's this....
Take a step back.. look at what is being posted on the walls of your social networks, the T.V., and any media in front of you. Gather it up all in one. Now ask yourself... What is it that we are trying to fix?
It'll never make sense. Much like violence. Read more...
Day 348 of 365: Only a Few Minutes
Thursday, December 13, 2012
Really though I could have made more time to shoot today, but I was so preoccupied on other things that it didn't really matter. The shots I took were taken in such a short time heading back to my car from the cafe and walking my dog before going to work. The day was exhausting.

Day 347 of 365: Randoms
Wednesday, December 12, 2012
I'm not sure how I feel about this photo. I posted it up just because it was the only thing I could think of shooting at the moment. I actually forgot to bring my G12 while heading to the coffee shop to study with my girl. I did, however, bring my film cameras to take portraits of her. I'm kinda tired of shooting digital. It's just one of those things I guess. Read more...
Day 345 of 365: Foggy Landscapes
Monday, December 10, 2012
I drove around for awhile allowing my feelings to direct me towards places to photograph. It was quiet, lonely, but peaceful. It was nice to be at peace. This is what I saw. This is what I may see again.

Day 344 of 365: Morning/Colored
Sunday, December 9, 2012
I find myself photographing moments where a particular part of the day presents itself with unique colors and compositions that are just waiting to be captured. These are moments that go unnoticed, privately seen only to those who take a chance to see it, believe it, and have the ability to soak it in. A timeframe that will only be seen with open eyes. I'm fully aware how the landscapes changes day by day. I study it recognizing the quality it brings towards the surface. Let it come to you. Let the moment surface through. Let those words that you hear inside your head be the poem through what you see through a moment that can't be explained.

Day 343 of 365: Short/Sweet
Saturday, December 8, 2012
This is probably the only photograph that was interesting enough to post an entry on. I did not feel motivated to shoot. I wanted to relax, sleep, and do my thing at work. This shot was taken at the Cromwell Diner. I love that place.

Day 341 of 365: The Girls of CT Bike Skatepark
Thursday, December 6, 2012
It was nice to see some girls do something that's not familiar with other girls. This shoot was for my documentary portraiture class that I have been gathering for the last few weeks. It definitely has evolved since its started. There's a lot of great vibes in this place and it is something I'm definitely loving each time I hang out there.

Day 340 of 365: A Run with Kacey Vidaud
Wednesday, December 5, 2012
As I start to get to know more people here in Connecticut I am getting more ideas of upcoming shoots. Today was a good day. The light was beautiful, I was able to shoot with my new medium format camera (details for tomorrows entry), and had fun hanging out with Kacey. I'm trying to get her more inspired to just shoot, get creative, and make some beautiful art. Hope this entry will inspire her more.

Day 339 of 365: At Night When it Closes
Tuesday, December 4, 2012
Since I haven't had much time to shoot anything personal I usually do my best to find something interesting, even if I have a few minutes. Tonight I decided to photograph stuff that involved me getting ready to drive home. Night photography is still a foreign thing for me, so being able to photograph these images gives me a fresh sense of what I haven't done before. It is true.. there's always something to photograph.

I'm here in Massachusetts with my gf and her fam. We got a chance to hang out in Boston and watch the Grinch musical. Throughout the day, however, I felt pretty exhausted from all the traveling we had to do from the night before. All in all things were pretty chill today. Certain pictures were taken by Donna
